A Light at the End of the Tunnel
Commercial Sex Exploitation (CSE) affects the most vulnerable and impoverished women in the world and in many cases, destroys their lives. This is the story of a program that aims to help victims recover and give their lives meaning and direction. By shining a light on the issue, through continued education and the tireless effort of dedicated staff and volunteers, the Empowerment Program provides support and training and a light at the end of the tunnel.

Commercial Sex Exploitation (CSE) usually affects poor and vulnerable women and like any complex problem, solutions are not easy to find. But, even the smallest gesture can have an impact. As compassionate and concerned individuals we can donate money and volunteer, but it goes much deeper than that as you will learn from this talk. Through organizations like Amilia’s Light, we can educate ourselves and help educate others, we can lobby our lawmakers to provide legal protections and financial support and we can get involved in developing practical programs that change lives.

Social Media and Influence on Brain Development
Social Media has changed the world, but for some, particularly children and teenagers, but also adults, it can be a dangerous black hole that sucks them in, causing anxiety, fear and sometimes serious mental and physical illness. As we mature we become more self conscious and acutely sensitive to social pressure and because social media puts distance between the parties, those with bad intentions, can bully, ostracize and mislead with impunity. Michelle, founder of Amilia’s Light, became a passionate social activist, fundraiser, and nonprofit leader while being a stay-at-home mom.
With many interests, and a love of learning and engaging with people, she radiates when she speaks or writes about something for which she has passion. Usually, that’s the survival and success stories from the women she serves at her nonprofit, AmiliasLight.org. Often, it’s about shining a light on the dark world of Human Trafficking, including awareness, prevention, and recovery.
As a speaker, she brings light, sparkle, and ease into a really dark subject that you probably don’t realize exists in your own backyard. She will reveal to you what role you can play in your home and community to influence positive change.
Michelle is passionate about empowering the women in her life, by encouraging them to dig deep, excavate their God-given gift and dream big.
